KAREN TERRA

After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, Karen moved to Rome, Italy. She opened an English language book shop in Piazza di Spagna which became the largest English language book shop on the continent. After living in Europe for 20 years she moved to Jackson in 1983. She opened The Travel Consultants and managed the firm from its inception to the sale of the business. Karen and her husband, Bob, have enjoyed tremendous real estate success while also raising their four children in Jackson Hole. Through their community involvement, Karen and Bob have avidly supported PAWS, The Center for the Arts, The Grand Teton Music Festival, The National Museum of Wildlife Art and has been a co-challenger to Old Bill’s Fun run for 20 years. Karen is currently on the executive committee for the Jackson Hole Library Foundation and, previously, she served three terms as Chair of the Community Foundation Board and still serves on their Investment Committee. In addition to her incredible service to the community of Jackson, Karen is an avid reader, she’s a yogini, she loves to hike Cache Creek with her dog Luna, and, when she has you over for dinner at her home; request the Pasta alla Carbonara!
MATT FAUPEL

Matt and his wife, Julie, have been Jackson residents since 2002 when they relocated from suburban Detroit. Matt has an engineering degree from the University of Michigan and, previous to his real estate success, Matt worked in the engineering and commercial real estate fields. Matt uses that background in his current residential real estate and development transactions to solve challenges and optimize outcomes. Matt has a passion for community housing and through his support of various initiatives, as well as his own development projects, he is dedicated to being a part of the solution to affordable workforce housing. Connecting with the outdoors in all seasons is an important aspect to Matt’s mountain lifestyle and his service to the Jackson community is equally important to him as he’s served on numerous local boards including public transportation, housing and animal advocacy.
JULIE FAUPEL

In addition to being a top producing real estate professional, Julie is the Founder and CEO of REALM, the most elite membership of real estate professionals ever assembled. REALM involvement is by invitation only and includes a patented technology platform that enriches individual client data while activating the databases of the membership in a completely anonymized manner. Julie’s career path prior to real estate includes 12 years of management and consulting experience for luxury hotels and small businesses. Julie has served on the Jackson Hole Community Foundation Board, she is the former Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, and has served on the Christie’s International Real Estate Global Advisory Board and she is a member of the Young Presidents Organization. Julie and her husband are avid supporters of entrepreneurship as trustees of the Silicon Couloir and independent investors in a number of start-up ventures. Julie loves to entertain and bring people together. Julie and Matt are both graduates of the Hoffman Institute and they host an annual reunion for Hoffman Graduates at their home in Jackson Hole.
MACK MENDENHALL

Born in the foothills of North Carolina, Mack graduated from North Carolina State University with honors and promptly moved out west. Mack became intimately connected with Jackson Hole as a river guide, photographer and working at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Introducing thousands of visitors to the unique and impressive sights and sounds of the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem came second nature to him. Being raised in the family brokerage, Mack quickly found his calling and became a third generation realtor.
Mack’s crowning professional achievement has been being the first and only real estate agent ever to be voted the Best in Jackson Hole, 8 straight years, from 2009-Present and was recently named the Realtor of the Year by the Teton Board of Realtors. As an active member of the community, Mack has served as Teton Board of Realtors President, Open Space Councilman with the Jackson Hole Land Trust, Board-member for the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, the Teton Raptor Center and Old Bill’s annual fun run.
Mack met his wife Katie in Jackson Hole and they are grateful to be raising their two daughters, Grace and Jenna in this incredible community.

Originally from Middleburg, Virginia, Emily graduated from the University of Virginia and went west in pursuit of continued adventure in a cultural, small town community. The opportunities for exploration in the mountains, immersions into the arts , and fine food restaurants enticed her to stay but it was the community of Jackson Hole that kept her here and has made the valley her forever home. Emily comes from a family of real estate brokers and custom home builders and has quickly found her calling in the business. Through previous work in hospitality and more recently with a local real estate developer in the valley, Emily has a strong knowledge of the ins and outs of the area. In her spare time, you can find Emily back country skiing in Grand Teton National Park, mountain biking and trail running in Bridger Teton National Forest, cooking up a good meal with vegetables from her garden, walking her dog Sprout by the Snake River or spending time with her friends and family.

Tess joins our team with a background in Sales and Property Management. Growing up in Kansas City and South Florida, Tess went to Colgate University to earn a degree in Art and Art History. Immediately after school she moved to Jackson to spend a summer wrangling horses on a guest ranch. With the intention to stay for only the summer season, the outdoor opportunities and the small-town community lead her to stay full time. After 6 years in the valley, Tess decided to pursue a career in Real Estate and join the GFM team. Tess enjoys spending her free time riding horses, fishing, and hiking with her dog, Lady.
ALLIE DETWILER
Marketing Manager
Born in Massachusetts, Allie graduated from the University of Vermont with a business degree and concentration in marketing, and shortly made the move to the west after school. En route to living in Jackson, Allie lived in Salt Lake City where she continued her career in digital strategic marketing before moving to Jackson, which she now calls home. Allie comes from a family of real estate brokers, antique home restorers, and land rover enthusiasts—and found her perfect fit with the GFM team. Outside of the office, you can find her hiking, biking, or riding her horse—Tucker.
